About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Suggestions for hotel and tours for the 72 hour Visa Fee Transit

Heard about the new Xianmen Airlines and intend to visit Singapore in October from YVR. Instead of transit in Xian, would like to enjoy the 72-hour Free Transit. Can this be taken from the onward trip (i.e. YVR/Xian/SIN), or the return trip (SIN/Xian/YVR) or on both onward and return trips?

How far is the town from Xian Airport and would there be time to do some sight seeing during the 72 hours?

Are we able to communicate in English only? Is the Canadian Dollar accepted or we have to change to the local currency?

Is it convenient to get a taxi to the hotel? Do we have to pre-book accomodation or they are readily available?

You would not be eligible since Xiamen's SIN flight has a stop in Hangzhou.

Xiamen does not fly to Xi'an and their SIN flight has a stop in Hangzhou, so you won't qualify. But...

1) the airport is at least 1 hour away from Xi'an in most ideal traffic conditions, so plan accordingly.
2) 95% of the locals have zero or next-to-zero English ability, and no, Can$ is not accepted. (Have you found a city in the States that accepts Can$? Even Buffalo doesn't.)
3) You have to pre-book your accommodation. China is, unfortunately, no longer communist so you have to pay for everything.

Johnny, you do realise that Xian and Xiamen are different cities almost 1000 miles apart, don't you?
