Transport from Shantou to Guangzhou

Hi,
I have a group of seniors who need to get from ST to Guangzhou airport to connect a midnight flight back to Kuala Lumpur. Flights are to expensive. Are there direct buses arriving at Baiyun airport without the hassle of transfers? What about trains? What are the departing and arrival stations in both cities. Thank you for your help.

As I know, there is no direct bus to Baiyun Airport. You can take Guangzhou High-speed Line at Shantou Bus Station to Guangzhou Liuhua Station, which is the nearest stop to airport. The whole trip will take 5 - 6 hours or so. The bus departs at 6:40, 7:40, 8:40, 9:40, 10:40, 11:40, 12:40, 13:40, 14:40, 16:40 and 19:40. Upon arrival, you may transfer to shuttle bus Line 1 to the airport directly.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply above. As an alternative, is it possible to hire a 10 - 12 seater van to transport the group of 10 from ST hotel to Guangzhou Baiyun? Could you recommend a reliable local car rental company I can contact in ST?

Thanks again.

Lynda, I have traveled to Guangzhou once. At that time, I rent a mini van from TravelChinaGuide for my convenience. You can contact them with bookingtravelchinaguide.com . They may help you out.
