Hi, is the Tianamen Sq, Forbidden City and Drum & Bell Tower nearby to one another?

Can I walk from one attraction to the other or do I need to take a taxi from one place to the next? Also, which Hutong is best/recommended to visit near the Drum & Bell Tower? I would only be there for 2 days. I would like to visit the Palace Museum and Donghuamen Market too. Are they also close by? Thank you.

You can walk to the Forbidden City after Tiananmen Square, but you will walk too much to the Drum Tower. After visiting the large Forbidden City, walk more than 3 km to the Drum Tower, and then walk around the nearby Hutongs. Really an exhausting day.

BTW, donghuamen market was already closed last year.
