About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is Taipei - Guangzhou - HK - Xi'an - Taipei possible?

Provided that I only stay for max. 72 hours in Guangzhou and and 72 in Xi'an.

Guangzhou to HK and then on to Xi'an would be on the same day. Planning to enter HK before Xi'an.

I'm only flying via HK to "reactivate" the 72 hours for Xi'an. Not sure if it works though. Any reply would be appreciated. Thank you!

Yes that's fine. You can transit without visa as many times as you like, twice in a week isn't a problem at all.
