About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying from Japan to Tianjin followed by Chongqing to UK

Is it possible for a UK national to fly to Tianjin from Japan, leave the airport to stay at a hotel for 7 hours, fly to Chongqing without leaving airport on a transit flight to UK? Thanks

Dear, I think the total layover times you will spend in China is less than 24 hours, right? If yes, you don't need the transit permit.

Yes, my overall transit within china will be around 18 hours in total if including chongqing. Does this mean I can get a 24 hour direct transit within the airport on arrival at Tianjin?
