About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

is it true that i need visa in china for a stopover?

i am a filipino and i'll be having stopover in shanghai. my destination is chicago, us. however, a relative told me that in order for me to be 'allowed' to have a stopover in china (shanghai), i need visa in china too. is it true? because i only have tourist visa in US. thank you!

Anne, if your transit time in Shanghai is less than 24 hours, you don't need it. However, if the time is longer than 24 hours, you need to apply for it.
