About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

I just renewed my passport, do I need to transfer my residence permit?

I just got my new passport as the old one was running out of pages.
I want to know if I have to transfer the residence permit to the new passport?
I called the office in Huzhou and they said no.
Can you tell me if that is actually the case or not?
Thank you.

Reza, usually, you need to transfer the residence permit to the new passport, but if the exit and entry administration said that you don’t need to do that, maybe you can do what they said.

Hi, its Reza. I am just worried I'll have a problem when I leave to visit the home in August. They said there is no need, but I am not sure if that is actual policy.
