About:China Embassy in Thailand

As a German can I apply for a muliple entrance visa to China (had a previous single entry visa).

I work here in Thailand

I have had previous 1year multiple entry visas issued in France and I have an invitation letter for 1 year multiple entries however the CVASC in Bangkok told me that they are not permitted to issue a visa for more than 2 entries.
