If I am in Beijing for just over 72 hours, can i go to airport and check in early ?

I am arriving on a monday morning early and leaving thursday at noon - about 3/ 4 hours over the 72 hour limit. Can I go to the airport early or is it strictly on flight departure time ? thanks !
