About:Visa Policy of China

Visa US passport holder to Beijing

Hi, I have a US passport and i heard i dont have to apply for a chinese tour visa if im staying for less than 72 hrs/6 days? Then what documents do i need?
Also, my boyfriend from the Philippines will come with me within the 2-3 day stay and he holds a Phil passport. Will he need to get a visa? Flight is from April 3-5. Thank you.
We plan on going to the Great Wall and forbidden city. Will $200 be enough for transportation, food, and entrance fees for both of us?

As for you, if you travel like country A-Beijing (72 hours)-country B, you will be able to use the 72 hour free transit, and then no visa will be needed. You need to provide your passport, the confirmed air tickets and valid entry permit for country B.
As for your boyfriend, he needs to apply for a visa in advance for that.
$200 may not tight for you two. You’d better prepare more money for that.
