About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

We're flying from Uk to Singapore and taking a cruise for 10 days which finishes at Shanghai port.

We then stay two days in Shanghai city before flying from Pudong to France and the UK.Our itinery is as follows:
27th March leave UK airport to Amsterdam in Holland.
27th March leave Amsterdam airport for Singapore
28th March arrive in Singapore
30th March Board cruise in Singapore
9th April arrive at port of Shanghai at end of cruise
11th April Leave Shanghai by flight from Pudong
11th Arrive at Charles de Gaulle airport in France
11th April Fly from France back to U.K.
Can we get exemption and how do I apply for confirmation?

John, you are eligible for the 144hrs free transit in Shanghai and you can confirm this with Shanghai General Station of Immigration Inspection by calling 0086-21-51105100.

Thank you Heidi for your kind and prompt response.To avoid being accused of being in the country illegally when we try to fly out,I wanted to take something in print. Would they have an email that I could get through on and get a reaction to?

Your only option is to call them. They do speak English.
