How to write my name for the plane ticket

My name, as written in my passport, contains umlauted letters (ö). How should I write my name for the plane ticket? In both my Chinese visa and machine-readable part of my passport the letter "ö" is translittered as "oe". However, it seems that for most people here in China that's too confusing, and they would prefer "ö" to be written simply as "o". What do you recommend?

Please write "oe". Actually, both "o" and "oe" are accepted by airline companies.
