About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I will join a vessel in shanghai on the 24 april,

Hello,
is it possible for me to fly in to shanghai on (landing on) 21st april ? can i apply for the transit visa 72hours?

If your travel route will be country A-Shanghai (144 hours)-country B, you are able to apply for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
