About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

I am from the UK, currently I'm in Ho Chi Minh,

whilst coming here the airline at Bangkok said that I will 100% need a visa for my return flight which is as follows:

26/02 - Hanoi - 17:40 - Kunming - 22:10
27/02 - Kunming - 08:05 - Shanghai Pudong - 11:00
27/02 - Shanghai Pudong - 13:00 - London Heathrow - 17:45

Please can you let me know if I need to get a visa, I only have a few more days in Ho Chi Minh and would like to get it sorted ASAP.
Many thanks.

Ritchie, according to your travel itinerary, your total layover in China is not exceeding 24 hours, and then you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit. In this case, no visa will be needed.

Thanks Edmond, have you ever used Kunming Airport? I was wondering what the transfer from an international flight to domestic flight would be like.
Many thanks again.
