About:Kunming Airport

My family and i have a ten hour lay over in Kunming.

Myself and my children hold American passports and my husband has an Austrian, would we be able to go site seeing into the city? or get a hotel room?

Yes, you can. You don't need to apply for a visa. You can enjoy the 24 hours visa free policy because of your stopover is just 10 hours. However, if you wanna leave the airport and tour around downtown area, you need to apply for the Stay Permit at the airport first. In addition, you can make full use of these 10 hours to have a short trip. Jinma Biji Archway and Yunnan Provincial Museum are recommended. :)
