About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Our flight is syd to shanghai with an hour stop over in hong kong. 4 days

Then we leave shanghai to stay in hong kong 4 days.

Because of the stop over on our way into shanghai does that mean we do not qualify for 144hr visa? We leave in 2 days have no idea what we would do .

Unfortunately, you no longer qualify for the 144-hour TWOV. There are no quick fixes for you to get on your flight as you will definitely be denied from boarding based on your current itinerary. You can either reroute to fly to Shanghai directly or via a third country other than HK, or change your return flight's first destination to a third country/region other than HK (e.g., Macau) and travel to HK from there.
