Update single entry X2 visa to multi entry one for China

Hello, I am studying abroad in China and already obtained an X2 type with single entry. Is there anway I can update this to a multi entry one after arriving in Shanghai as I will love to travel to different countries while in China. How likely will it be approved, What is the process like and how long does it typically take? Thank you.

Chi, no, you cannot change single-entry X2 type to multiple-entry one.

Thank you for your reply. Can I obtain a multi entry visa when I get there? What's the process, time and possibility? To apply for a new one

Check with your local Exit and Entry Administration for further details, and they may issue you a visa. If your application is not approved, however, you'd better not leave the country until your courses are over.
