day trip from beijing to chengdecitymountain resort

Question

like to visit Chengde  from Beijing for a quick trip to the city and Mountain Resort. We have a very limited time to make a trip . If we leave early in the morning can it be possible to return back in the late evening. what would be the convenient place to catch the bus from Beijing and when the last buss leaves from Chengde to Beijing. Your help in this matter would be greatly apriciated.ThanksMustafa

Hi, the last bus from Chengde to Beijing is at 18:00. If you can not catch this bus, you can take train at 19:15 instead. Train back to Beijing takes more than 4 hours.  You will be pushed for time in the one day quick trip. From the bus station to the resort, you may take taxi to save as much time as possible.
