How many hours it takes to go to Sayram Lake from Urumqi by bus?

In general, the bus takes around 8 hours on the way. And yes, you are right. The long-distance bus to Yining via the lake. You can get off in the halfway.
I remember that the last bus schedule from Yining to Urumqi is at 21:00. See whether if you can catch that bus. If not, you are advised to hire a private car to go back to Urumqi.

Sayram lake is nearly 600kms from Urumqi , it may takes 10 hours .
highway is pass through side of the lake and you get off the bus when its get to Sayram lake bus stop . next day you can hire locals car or take another bus at same bus stop .
