About:China Visa

Hi. My boyfriend and I are planning to get married soon. I will have an L type

get married then go back to my country. We plan to start living together in China before the year ends.

Can I get a visa in China right after we get married? How long is the processing time? Or do I need to apply for it in my country?

Dear, you can try to convert the tourist L type to a spouse Q1 type after you get married in China. The Q1 type will allow you to apply for a temporary residence permit which can allow you to enter and exit China for many times within its validity. The whole process may take one month or so.
If it cannot be done in China, I’m afraid you need to do that in your home country.
