Take photos

we read somewhere that we could take photos wearing traditional chinese costumes in the forbidden city, will we be given time for it or do we have to stick to the schedule?

Yes. The places you mentioned are available in the Forbidden City. Just tell your guide beforehand and she/he will take you there and leave some time for you to take photos.
