About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London-shanghai-Kota Kinabalu- Vietnam-Hong Kong-London

Hi Im flying from london to Kota kinabalu via shanghai (12 hour layover), then spending few days there before flying to vietnam and then to hong kong then back to london.

which visa do I need? i would like to explore shanghai for the day upon arrival I land 9am and flight leaves following morning 01:30AM

Charlotte, you don't need the entry permit for Shanghai actually as you meet the requirements of free transit policy. For HK, if you are a UK passport holder, the entry permit is not required either.
