do i need reservation for ferry from hk to guangzhou in advance?

Hi I am arriving HKIA at 8:30am and would like to take the ferry to either Nansha port or Humen port. Please advise 1.) which port is closer to Panyu? 2.) Which ferry line has schedule for shortest transit time for my journey? 3.) Do I need to make reservation before hand or if I can book upon arrival?

Cary, you are advised to take a ferry to Guangzhou Panyu Lianhuashan Port. There are three ferries a day leaving HKIA at 11:20, 16:00, and 18:30. The duration is around 1.5h. You can make an online reservation on the website of CKSP (Chu Kong Shipping).
