About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

can i apply for a Visa in May and not travel to China until October?

also, we live in Houston, my parents live in Nashville and Indianapolis. can I get all the Visas at the Chinese embassy in Chicago?

If you do not travel until Ocotber, it's too early to apply for it in May because your visa may expire in three months. I advise you to apply in August or September.

You should apply from the consulate in Houston. The person in Nashville should apply from the embassy in Washington, and the person in Indianapolis should apply from the consulate in Chicago.
