I want to invite my friend to visit beijing for one week. Can you please guide me that should I need to take an invitation letter from the office of the international relation of Beijing Forestry University? or I have to just provide the hotel booking and confirmed return air tickets? Please guide me regarding this.

It depends on your friend's nationality. In most cases, he or she just need show the hotel booking and confirmed round-trip tickets to apply for the visa.
