procedure for international flight from chiang mai, thailand to beijing, then on to sf

I arrive and depart from Terminal 3 and have 70 minutes. Will I need to go through customs if I check my bag through, or do I have to pick it up and recheck? Where is the transfer procedure area and will I have enough time?

It is international to international transfer in T3. The minimum transfer time is around an hour. Thus you need to finish procedures as soon as possible.
