About:China Visa Exemption

If I fly from Sydney to Shanghai via Hong Kong,

would transitting through Hong Kong qualify for the 144 hours visa free transit? So my itinerary would be:

Sydney to HK to Shanghai : 16Jan (transit via HK)
Shanghai to HK to Sydney: 20Jan (transit via HK)

Susan, if so, you cannot enjoy the 144 hour free transit. Apply for a visa in advance.
