To be honest, mid March is not an ideal time. It will be cloudy and snow somtimes. The temperature may range from 20F to 50F. It is cold. Some places might be closed, like Meili Snow Mountain. The best time lasts from May to July, and from September to October. If possible, you may postpone your trip a little bit.

Thanks Mary you're quite right - we've decided to give Shangri-la a miss this time round. We'll fly straight to Chengdu from Lijiang instead and continue our tour there.
