Dutch traveler wants to fly bkk (thailand) to Shenzhen SZX (China)

can i apply for VOA on the SZX airport?

Yes, it's possible to apply for the VOA at Shenzhen Airport. You can contact the airport to confirm this by dialing 0086-755-82327700.

No you can NOT get the Shenzhen VOA at the airport as far as I know.
Best have a look at the airlines Timatic visa system.
