In this case, will I need any transit visa/permit?

Hi, I`m holding a Malaysian passport flying from Prague to Cheng du (sichuan air) arriving Chengdu at 09:35am for transit purpose then flying to KL via Airasia at 14:55pm. My lay over time in Chengdu is about 5 hours.

You don’t need it. You can make use of the 24 hour direct transit in Chengdu.
