72 hour Transit Visa Chengdu and Beijing if add Hong Kong

Hi,
I am interested in flying London - Chengdu, Chengdu - Hong Kong, Honk Kong - Beijing, Beijing - London. I would like to know if that is possible (or vice versa) or if the fact that Chengdu and Beijing are in there, even with Hong Kong between them, causes issue?
