Ethiopian passport holder transiting in Shanghai, Whats document is needed?

Hi I am planning to get a tickets for my Ethiopian parents to Australia passing Shanghai twice using Airchina (transiting for few hours), what documentation do they need? how long will the visa take? Do I need to get the tickets before the visa?

For Double-Entry with 6-month Validity so ETB 1800 each?

Sara, if they transit in Shanghai for less than 24 hours, they are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit. And they just need to provide passports and the air tickets. No need to apply for a visa.

thanks Allis, are you replying on behalf of the embassy? Just to be 100% sure. Both time (going and coming) they stay under 24hours.
