Renew my Hong Kong passport

I am wondering if I can renew my Hong Kong passport in Vancouver or if I am needing to make a trip back to Hong Kong to get this completed? Did notice same question asked but is several years old thus needing to see if changes have been made. Please advise. thank you very kindly. I am also a permanent resident of Canada
