16 hours stop over in Guangzhou

Hi, I will be transiting in Guangzhou for 20 hours, from 10:30 pm till 6:30 pm the next day. I am considering to stay in a hotel closest to the airport, Pullman Guangzhou Baiyun. It says in the website it is within the airport complex. Do I still need to apply for the 72-hour visa-free transit permit? Any better suggestions? Thanks in advance! :)

You may need to apply for a temporary stay permit which is free of charge at the airport, and then you can go to stay at the hotel.
