About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Renewing resident permit requires 15 working days. Can I fly inside China in that time.

In principle, you can travel inside China during that time, but your passport will be needed during the travel, and you need to submit the passport for the renewal. In this case, I’m not sure if you can still travel. You’d better confirm that with the exit and entry administration.

When you give them your passport for them to process and issue your visa, they give you a piece of paper certifying that your passport is at the immigration office for visa processing. You can travel within China with that piece of paper (works for hotels, trains, flights and everything else for which you would need your passport)
