About:Top 8 Reasons Why Your China Visa Gets Rejected

Transit from HK to Thailand via Shenzhen

Hi,
I am a UK citizen, I live in Hong Kong and I am planning to travel to Thailand via Shenzhen Airport later this month. I am travelling with my wife and my parents. I already have a Chinese visa and my wife is Chinese so doesn't need one. My parents are travelling from the UK to meet us in Hong Kong first and they will need a visa for China.

We plan to take the bus from HK island to Shenzhen airport, then fly to Thailand from there. On the return journey one week later we will fly from Thailand to Shenzhen then take the bus back to HK island.

I believe my parents will therefore need a double or multiple entry tourist L type. Is this correct? Otherwise, would they be eligible for a transit G type in Shenzhen both on the way to and the way back from Thailand? We would only be spending a few hours in Shenzhen each way.

My parents are both UK citizens and have travelled to China before and have never had a problme obtaining visas in the past.
Many thanks!

David, yes, your parents need double entries. If they just stay for not more than 24 hours in Shenzhen each time, they can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Shenzhen in both directions, and then no visa will be needed.

There's no TWOV service in Shenzhen and anyone in transit must hold a Chinese visa.
