Which way is better from Shanghai to Huangshan scenic by bullet train or long distance bus?

By bullet train: take a bullet train to HS North from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. The train departs at 08:31, and the trip takes about 4.5 hours. A second class seat costs CNY 305; a first class seat costs CNY 505.5. Upon arrival, take a bus to Tangkou. The buses are available from 9:00 to 19:00 at hourly intervals. The fare is CNY 20, and the trip takes about 1 hour. Then, take a bus from Xinguoxian Bus Station to Ciguang Pavilion or Yungu Temple, where you can take a cable car up.

By Bus: take a direct bus to the mountain from South Bus Station. The buses depart at 10:27 and 14:57, and the fare is CNY 148. The trip takes about 6 hours. The buses have stopovers at the service areas, so that you can go to the toilet and have something. Upon arrival, take a bus from Xinguoxian Bus Station to Ciguang Pavilion or Yungu Temple to take a cable car.

By the way, the Yuping Cableway costs CNY 90 from March to November; CNY 75 from December to February. The Yungu Cableway costs CNY 80 from March to November; CNy 65 from December to Feburary.
