About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

6 days in Shanghai

With this 144 hour free transit, does it mean that we can fly in ( without appying for any tourist visa ) from Sydney to Pudong, then return to Sydney as long as we don't exceed the "144 hours" stay?

Charlie, no, you are not eligible for the 144 hour free transit if you travel like Sydney-Shanghai-Sydney because it is not a transit.
You can travel like Sydney-HK- Shanghai-Sydney or Sydney-Shanghai-HK-Sydney, and then you can enjoy free transit in Shanghai.
