About:Shanghai 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups

Asia Cruise

Considering a cruise starting in Hong Kong and ending in Shanghai. I would fly out of Shanghai the same day I arrive but have a long layover in Beijing. Would I need to get a visa to visit Beijing, specifically, the old city?

Mark, if the total time you will stay in Shanghai and Beijing is more than 24 hours, you would need a visa to visit Beijing. If not, you don't need it as you are eligible for the 24-hour direct transit policy.
