Criminal Background Check for American living in Chile

I am an American currently living and working Chile for 2 years. I have a new job in China starting in February. I have been told I need to apply for a "Commitment of Non-Criminal Offense Record" at a Chinese Embassy. Can I get a background check from Chile (Since I've been working and living here and not in the USA), and apply for the authentication by a Chinese consulate/embassy in Chile, to be used in a month to apply for the z visa in the USA? If so, what forms do I need? I will be leaving Chile in December to travel and then I will be in the USA in January to officially apply for my visa. Thanks.

You can apply for it from Chile because you lived there for the past 2 years, and then get the criminal background check at the Chinese embassy in Chile. After, you can use it to apply for the work Z type for China in USA.
You can just ask for the criminal background check from the local police station in Chile and then get it attested at the embassy. You can get the application form for attestation at the official website of the embassy of China.
