About:China Visa

can I convert my x visa to q1 without leaving?

If not: can I apply for q1 in hong kong? Or korea?
I had a concussion and afraid of taking planes. Another concussion if turbulence hit the planes may prove fatal.
So my x type expires in february. What should I do?

Yes, it is possible for you to convert the X1 type to Q1 type within China. You can just try to change it at the exit and entry administration of the local public security bureau.
If you don’t have HK residence permit or Korean ARC card, I’m afraid it’s difficult for you to apply for Q1 type from there.

Thank you Yvonne! I am Samoan so no I dont have those HK Korea items. I went to Entry Exit office in Beijing and one clerk told me I had to leave and do it in my country. I wish there were some exceptions for people like me who cant take plane now.
