About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transit in Guangzhou or Nanjing

Hello, I hold a Thai passport, but I am arriving in Guangzhou from the USA, does this include the 72 hour free transit in either Guangzhou or Nanjing? I am quite confused about the transiting, is the 72 free-transit based on the passenger's passport, or the country that the passenger is coming from or going to?

Because of your nationality, you cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit.
It first depends on the nationality, and then it is relevant with one’s travel route.

If your layover time in China is more than 24 hours, you have to apply for an entry permit.
