About:Chinese Embassy in South Africa

we are south african my son 21yrs and i have booked a holiday to go to hong kong for 6 days

only do we need to get a visa? even if we are not going to main land China?

No, you don’t need to get a visa because South African passport holders can enjoy free entry to HK for a stay of not more than 30 days.
