About:Zhujiajiao Water Town

Is early Dec a good time to visit Zhujiajiao? Traveling with my 70 yr old, should I join a tour?

If we don't, how do we get around once we are at the old town? Thx

Yes, you can pay a visit in early December. Considering that you travel with an elderly, you are advised to join a tour. Inside the town, you can take a boat to get around. :)
