Would you advise taking the train from Beijing to Urumqi?

Well, there are only two train departures at 10:00 and 15:15, and the trip takes about 32 to 39 hours. So, you are not advised to travel by train. Instead, you are advised to fly to Urumqi from Beijing. There are many flights each day, and the trip takes about 4 to 6 hours. :)
