About:Requirements for Permanent Residence Permit

Q1 Visa - Spouse Chinese or D visa with GreenCard

Hi, I am PhD student in China on X1 type for 3 years. ( two years are already over in China). I am planning to get married with a girl (Chinese Citizen with Chinese Passport, staying in China). As per my knowledge I have a option to apply for Q1 type and D type. I have queries as below:
Q1 type:
If I convert my X1 resident permit to Q1, what will be changes? or I will have two permit together - study and Q1?
How many days in a year I can stay in China in Q1 type? How much long I can get residence permit with multiple entries?
D typee: Can I apply for this now? If I get a job after completed of my PhD in China, I can apply for D type?
Other options to apply for Green Card after marriage?

Thanks

Gaurav, if you convert the student X1 type to Q1 type, your status in China will change. The Q1 type is issued for those who seek spouse reunion in China. You cannot hold both X1 type and Q1 type at the same time.
After getting the Q1 type, you can apply for a temporary residence permit within 30 days and the temporary residence permit is valid for a year in most cases, so you can stay for a whole year in China.
I’m afraid you cannot apply for the D type now. If you get a job and need to work in China, you should apply for a work Z type.
After your marriage lasts for 5 years in a row, and your annual stay in China will be more than 9 month, and you have stable and secured living status and place to live, you can try to apply for the D type.
