use of 144 hour visa on ward to h.k

Question

If Ian Austraian citizen traveled from MEL to PVG airport via SIN (Transit) and then depart Shanghai cruise ship to Hong Kong within the 144 hours, is that acceptable? If that person fly's back to PVG from HKG airport would they be granted another 144 hour  or 72 hour free transit if they had a ticket back to Australia via SIN (Transit)? Thank you in advance!

Michael, it is acceptable. When you fly back like HK-PVG-SIN-Australia, you will be given another 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. Nice trip!
