men's wear for tang showtraditional music

Question

I can figure out my woman's wardrobe easily, I like to dress up. We are joining a tour group and will attending traditional coverts and dinner shows. Does my husband need a coat and tie? Does it have to be a dark coat? Can he wear his red Rotary tie? Any guidance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I do try to show respect to local customs. Thank you.

If it is a formal concert, you are suggested to wear something formal. Dark coat and a tie should be appropriate. It will be ok to wear the red Rotary tie.
