About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

HK - Shanghai - Taipei - HK

Hi,
I am going to Shanghai for 48 hours from HK, and on my way to Taipei.
Then back to HK. I hold French passport.
I do not need a Chinese visa, am I correct?
Best,
Alex
