Dongzhimen Bus Stop

HI,

Ill be arriving on November 8 at 12MN and will be staying at Beijing Downtown Backpackers. I am planning to take the Bus to Dongzhimen (Bus Stop or Station) then from there take a cab. Is it easy to take a cab during that hour around 2AM? Also, since my accomodation is in an ally or hutong - would that mean I will need to walk? Thank you for your advise and better alternatives to reach my hotel better and cost effective are very much welcome.
